The aim is to enable you to arrive at an informed and optimal decision for the benefit of your business. To determine which one is more suitable for a small/startup business, we will analyse their features, pricing plans, and other key aspects.

Godaddy vs Procredible

In order to draw a fair comparison we will be comparing Godaddy’s standard website package with Procredibles most popular package, looking at the pros and cons of each option.

Design

Your website acts as the face of your company; it reflects your business’s image and assists in creating a positive and lasting impact.

When choosing a website package, one of the key parts of it is the design and what options you have. There are a few choices you have when looking into this:

  • Design the website yourself
  • Get the website designed

There will be pros and drawbacks to both decisions.

Godaddy’s Design

At the heart of the Standard Plan is GoDaddy’s user-friendly website builder. This drag-and-drop tool empowers users with minimal technical expertise to create professional-looking websites effortlessly. In fact, one study described Godaddy’s drag and drop editor as ‘one of the easiest-to-use site builders available today. GoDaddy is an excellent tool for beginners and those with limited or no coding or design skills.’

The builder offers a variety of customisable templates, allowing you to tailor your site to match your brand identity.

While this drag and drop feature is great, there may be limitations to your design freedom, especially regarding your template selection. As so many users are using GoDaddy, it’s likely that you will pick a similar template to someone else, at which point it is important to ensure your design is completely unique.

In today’s mobile-first landscape, ensuring that your website is accessible and functional across various devices is crucial. The Standard Plan’s website builder automatically optimises your site’s design for mobile devices, ensuring a seamless user experience. As well as, an on-the-go editing system, meaning that you can edit your website from your phone, tablet or computer.

Procredible Design

One of the biggest differences between the two options is that Procredible websites are designed and built for you by professional website designers, rather than doing these things yourself.

All websites on the professional package will be created by a senior designer. Thorough research is done prior to building the website to ensure that the website stands out in your target market. With the skillful eye of an experienced designer, websites are customised to the clients needs and wants.

It is essential for your website’s success that all credible websites are designed to be responsive across a variety of screens. During the design process, the mobile versions of your website will seamlessly incorporate the content and designs from the desktop version.

Having a website professionally designed for you comes with numerous advantages. For example, Procredibles designers ensures your website is created swiftly and with utmost efficiency, while also taking into account design elements that may go unnoticed by an untrained eye. Having a well-designed website is essential for gaining a competitive edge and effectively attracting customers to your business.

SEO Features

When getting a website package, it’s important to ensure that it includes search engine optimisation (SEO) features. SEO is essential for getting traffic to your website and improving its visibility on search engine results pages.

Some features you should look for include:

  • Secured by an SSL Certificate
  • Website Analytics to review performance
  • Meta details and title tag customisation
  • Keyword optimisation
  • Page speed scores

GoDaddy SEO

SSL Secure

Security is a top priority in the digital world. The Godaddy Standard Plan includes an SSL certificate. This not only secures sensitive information but also boosts your site’s credibility in the eyes of users and search engines.

Basic SEO Tools

Search engine optimization (SEO) is essential for improving your website’s visibility in search engine results. While the Standard Plan does offer basic SEO tools, they may be limited compared to higher-tier plans.

This includes: a blogging feature, built-in email marketing tools and a social media content creator. However, all of these features come with their own limitations, for example, you will get access to 500 marketing sends (in order to prevent spam, godaddy ‘limit the number of email recipients to whom you can send messages to 500 per day’). and a cap of linking up to 3 social media platforms.

Analytics

Godaddy gives their users the opportunity to set up their site in Google Analytics. This provides valuable insights into how your website is performing.

Godaddy also offers their own tool called InSight. This is a powerful tool that provides users with a ‘numerical score tells you how your web presence ranks compared to similar businesses, while a custom action plan shows you what to work on next to keep improving’. This helps its audiences improve their website providing clear instruction on what to do next.

Procredible SEO

Procredible differs as some areas of SEO will be pre-filled by professionals. The website owners will have complete access to the SEO features, able to edit where they see fit.

SEO Package

Procredible offers an SEO package with their most popular package. Procredible websites will have any SEO features like meta details and title tags filled in by professionals when it goes live. This is to help with initial website optimisation, the client has full control to edit these details as they see fit.

In addition to this, depending on the package (for the most popular package, bi-annually) you will also get a growth call with a marketing expert to ensure your website is being pushed to its full potential.

Analytics

Procredible sites also come with in-built website analytics and Google Analytics and Google Search Console set up from the start.

SSL Secure

Procredible websites are automatically SSL secure once they are published. This comes at no extra cost and is included in all packages.

Hosting

Both GoDaddy and Procredible offer hosting as part of their package.

Godaddy Hosting

With Godaddy, all of their websites are hosted by them. All of this includes your site being SSL secure with 1 year free professional emails.

Procredible Hosting

On the Procredible professional website package, the website hosting is part of the price, all websites are ssl secure and include a 20GB storage space with unlimited bandwidth. [As professional emails have been mentioned and are part of the GoDaddy package, these should be mentioned in here, that they are available at an extra cost on PC.

Domain Names

When it comes to the domain names Procredible and Godaddy are quite similar. Procredible lets their clients use their own custom domain and on the Godaddy standard package all clients are able to connect their own custom domain.

Godaddy Domain

With Godaddy, on a standard plan, their clients are given the opportunity to add their own custom domain connection.

Procredible Domain

Having a unique domain name is crucial to any website, and many offer custom domain names at an additional cost. Procredible clients are given the option to use their own custom domain names.

Ecommerce

Godaddy Ecommerce

On the standard package ecommerce is not available. As such, if clients want to sell their products they have to upgrade to the Godaddy ecommerce package at an additional cost.

Procredible Ecommerce

While ecommerce is not included in Procredibles most popular package there is the option to add this as an add on, but this is at the expense of additional costs, not including the pricing for the most popular package.

Price

When comparing the website plans, one of the main areas people will look at is price. One study stated that ‘everything comes second to pricing’, no matter how much we like something, be it a product or service, our decision on whether to take action, the price, will likely play a large role in the final decision.

Godaddy Pricing

When it comes to pricing, Godaddy’s  standard package costs as low as £8.99 a month. This is for monthly payments, with a 30% saving on this plan for the first year. The costs will then increase to £12.99/mo when you renew after the first year.

One of the reasons why Godaddy is so popular with people is due to their low costs. For small businesses, keeping costs low is always a benefit. However, it’s important to note that there are renewal costs.

One of the reasons why Godaddy costs are so low in comparison to other builders is because it is a ‘build it yourself’ type of business. While this is great for some, others may prefer to spend a little extra for a more unique and tailored design, done by a professional.

Procredible Pricing

On the other hand, Procredibles most popular package has both a monthly and an annual plan. If clients pay monthly, they are asked to pay a one time setup fee of £149 and then a rolling £59 per month. Alternatively they can pay annually, this means paying for the website for the next 12 months up front in the amount of £588 (equating to £49 per month) with £0 set up fees.

Both Procredible and Godaddy packages have a range of different features available. Godaddy’s standard plan is a nice low-cost place to start for new businesses. However, those looking for a more tailored professional site may prefer to opt for a different builder.

For those who are looking to keep costs low while still getting a professional design, Procredible may be the more popular option.

Pros and cons

Godaddy

  • Low costs.
  • 24/7 Support
